Hey guys,
Me and OH are having some thoughts about saving up some cash and getting on the property ladder. What advise can anyone help us out with???
at the moment we rent a two bedroom flat for £600 a month about as low as it goes in our area, we have about £250 a month to put in our savings. between us we have around £5,000 at our desposal at this moment in time. so for each year we can save about £3000 - £3500.
have we any chance at all???? lol considering we also live in the south east near southampton???
Should we just save our butts off and see what happens over time???
or buy a mobile home and live like max and paddy???:rotfl:
kind regards
fishcake

The more deposit you have the better the rate you will get on your mortgage which in turn will pay for itself.0

Well, you can get a 1 bed flat in southampton for about £110k, so if you only have £5k savings, then you'd need to have a joint salary of about £30k, and would have monthly morgage repayment of about £700/month (taken over 25 years).
Don't forget solicitors fees and survey costs... although I think properties under £125k are exempt from stamp duty.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
What kind of price range are you looking at for properties?poppy100
