Advice on going Bankrupt, specific questions

Just a quick question (which I know someone on here will know the answer to) - would you not be better paying 50% of your bills, rather than 40%? I would imagine you're entitled to do so in a household of two adults. The extra money would then be going to your household, which would seem fair on a 50:50 basis.AD March 2014

Hi,
I know i properly should open a new thread but i am trying to make sense of everything inclusing my SOA. I have attached this at the bottom, is there anything i need to add? Or is there anything which is too high.
I live in a household of three. My partner pays about 60 percent of bills and pay the other 40.
Rent ..................300
Car Insurance......38.08
Car Tax........ 20.5
Mobile Phone..... 28
Food........... 200
Petrol ................60
Contents Insurance...15
Haircut me and child .....10
Prescriptions........15.7
Council Tax....... 50
Water....... 10
Gas ... 20
Elec..... 20
Total 787.28 and i take home £845.
The rest is used for meals, birthdays, holiday saving, car problems and tobacco which i am sure i cannot include on my soa for bankruptcy.
Any advice is appreciated and i know that it may look like ive got spare cash each month to pay off my debts, but i phsyically don't and if i do its not a lot.
You need to add in:
after school clubs, school meals, uniform (don't know how old your little one is) or childcare
clothing/shoes
MOT
dentist
hobbies (yours and child)
home maintenanceAD March 2014

Thanks for the advice, hoping to quit smoking very soon.
Little one is only in nursery/preschool and will be for at least 18 months.
I only 40 percent because my partner earns more than me so he pays 60 percent because he can afford it. Is that right? Thats what we pay each now, and if i change my payments won't the OR question this?
If i go bankruptcy am i allowed to include money for hobbies?
Will add MOT and car maintenance in there.
Have spoken to Stepchange, an adviser is calling me back next week.
Call national debtline - an hour later i am so confused. Lady mentioned something about the limitations act because its been so long since i have paid my debt. More research for me but i'm guessing this isn't going to change my debt.
Bankruptcy looking like to likely possibility i just need to get to that step.
Will call CAP now for an appointment........ah breathe!
Thankyou for continued advice. Knowing you are all here to talk to is a little weight of my shoulders0 -

I guess the advisor is wondering whether any of the debts are stature barred - and therefore unenforceable. They may be if you have not acknowledged them or made any payments in the past 6 years. If this is the case then your situation may not be as bad as you think it is.0 -
Sorry to go on again i've just been looking online at this limitations act and i have a few questions again if anyone can help or point me in the right direction.
The national debt helpline said that the limitations act might apply in my case due to the fact i havent paid my debts for nearly six years.
Does this count if they've contacted me?
If an account is status barred - will they still send me letters?
Can anyone see if i've ordered my credit report from Experian. I had access to one at Equifax but was advise to go to Experian. I've just paid £2 and i'm waiting for a response but i am worried that my creditors will see that i've ordered it.0 -
jojo - a small suggestion, rather than worry yourself more with possible doom scenarios, just sit back and note what you have done today.
[I say this ONLY because one lady has already confused/worried you again and wasn't this exactly what rattled you off last time?]
1. You made an appt with Stepchange
2. You phoned NDH.
3. You started researching the statute of limitations, which expert advisors will clarify during each appt.
4. You hopefully have made an appt with CAP. Here, I can set your mind at rest. 'jojo money' is an absolute given in any CAP Budget - that's another smile for you today.
Your next thing is to stop googling tonight.
Start a folder for any p/w you can gather together.
You'll need this to take to appointments.
Be ready to jot down anything you think you might have owed, to whom, when - even if approximately only. A lot of shutting down has deliberately helped you block out details, if not always the fact, of that debt.
You've made real progress today jojo. Again, very well done
