My list has gone a little awry already - it is now raining, inside and outside the loft
Have moved everything from the wet to the dry side and am just researching roofers! Last lot were here for something different but were cowboys. At least we can possibly get it fixed all in one go...but have literally just swapped house insurance yesterday, so am guessing they won't cover new leaks? Bad timing. 0 -

Hi Everyone
LittlePinkStar -Just read your reply from saturdays thread, a lot of people are nervous driving in the dark I think, sounds like a good idea to wait until you have a day off to enjoy your haul of tickets.
Ally - Thank you, have claimed my free cat food. Things like that really help as its the days you realise you are out of cat food, & end up then spending a tenner in the tesco express etc when all you wanted was a bowl of food for puss
Foxgloves/Ziggy - Poor you guys, its hanging on now isnt it.Im going to prescribe you both The entire Sopranos on box set, 6 seasons, amazing entertainment right on your couch
Me today, well. Made a brilliant start, sent both the boys off with their lunches packed, breathed a sigh of relief that Im off today after a 10 hr shift yesterday, done various bits around the house menu planning, waste reduction etc.
I was FURIOUS to discover that because I had left money in one account that needed to be in our joint, a total stupid mistake, we have now been charged another £25 bank fee by Cahoot. They wont reverse it either as we've already had one this month. The cost is for a returned DD.
I feel so deflated. Whats the point making a few meals stretch further when you cant keep your current account in its agreed limits. Anyway thats my winge.
Because of the way our money comes in, we get OH with a lump sum on the 25th, & then mine comes dribbling in piece meal for the rest of the month. Sometimes its not that we cant afford to pay something, but physically cant get it there in time. Until recently we've managed, but December was so bad, not due to us spending too much but due to the business just being so bad, we've had to cover more on that front leaving us overextended.
Just got to keep on keeping on I suppose until the 25th.
Do others feel that sometimes what is the point in our penny pinching ways?? BAH!
Off to drown my sorrows in some more admin

Now Bob.....are you listening? I want you to jump up & down while shouting the 6 worst swear words you can think of. Done that? Ok, now breathe.......let's have some deep calming breaths while you think how much worse it would have been if on top of these difficulties you'd been frittering money away, ignoring your budgets & not making best use of resources. I know where you're coming from wondering why you're bothering…....we had a taste of that in Nov when we were hit by over £800 of unexpected bills. £800 represents a lot of effort on the rubber chicken, 'use it up', shopping around, batch cooking, front BUT if we were still living like the Old Very Naughty Foxgloves & the Frankly Even Worse mr f, we would have been in a much worse position. So, I'm sending sympathy but am also saying that it is DEFINITELY worth carrying on with your resourceful pennysaving ways. It all comes down to trying to keep you & yours in as strong a place as possible in very difficult times.

Foxgloves you are lovely. Thanks for that boot up the backside as it were. And OMG I'd have died with a bill like that. I wont pry but hope you have dealt with it all by now??
I do know that it makes sense to live under your means & focus as much as possible on financial freedom. Of course I do. And even posting it here made me feel better (a bit) you cant blame the bank, its totally within their power to do these things. Knees bend, deep breath, & off on the school run

Howdy all : )
Well it feels like Im all back on track after xmas, its taken this long to get myself back into doing things! Anyways, today I am helping my debt by:
1. Cooking all food, had a lovely lunch of vegie burger and salad.
2. Made sure my bank accounts are all good, yup they are.
3. Got organised with weekly tasks.
4. Practised my guitar.
5. Practised my drawing.
6. Getting my pooch ready for his vet check up.
7. Checked my emails.
8. Going to have a spend free day
9. Might take the pooch out for a walk later if the rain lets up.
10. Looking after my teeth with a proper dental care routine.
11. Started my shopping list for Friday (its a work in progress, I work on it over four days for about 5 - 10 mins a day).
12. Came here to keep my motivation high and my mind firmly in the "save money" mindset.
I think that's about it. Have a great week everyone.Debt as of March 2018, £794 rent arrears £4273.7 debt, £900.70 in pay day loans, total £5968.40 . Total debt today £5968.40

Hi all,
I did something I would never have bothered doing a year ago - popped into Boots to put points onto my advantage card using a receipt from a very small purchase a week back, where I didn't have my advantage card with me. Eight points. I feel hardcore! :j:www: House Deposit = 100% Purchase Fees = 44%
