euro car park charge scotland

Hi, I have received a parking charge for an over stay by 24mins. I read the newbies section and there wasn't much as to what to do if u live in Scotland. I was planning to appeal it instead of just ignoring it? Or should I just ignore it and complain to the retailers who own the car park?
Any advice appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Well there is no point appealing this unless you were not the registered keeper, for example if it was a company car. There is no keeper liability in Scotland , and unless you tell them they won't know who is driving. So keep it that way. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

That's because there is not a lot you can do - You can either ignore the scammers or be a gullible bam yourself and be taken-in by them.
POFA 2012 only applies in England and wales, so there is no appeal process and no keeper liability up here, which is entirely in your favour.
Complaining to the retailer is a possible option, yes but given that ignoring and not getting dragged into a pointless letter exchange is the quickest way to get shot of them.

Refer to the 'Private parking ticket? Newbies please read this first' sticky thread as this is covered.
And search the forum for 'Scotland' and read threads from recent weeks. Not sure why we get new posts about Scotland all the time when a simple search finds TONS of threads and the easy answer is - you are lucky, in Scotland the keeper is NOT liable.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:

Just file the letters away (you will get 5 or 6 of them at approx monthly intervals) and do nothing at all.
Ignore them all.
All they can do is contact the keeper who is under no legal obligation to tell them anything at all.
If you appeal and let them know who was driving - that is another matter and they can then chase the driver for payment.
Don't appeal is my advice.0 -
Thanks for the replays guys, much appreciated! Letter will be ignored.0
