Best fridge freezers

Hi,
My 4 year old Beko frost free fridge freezer has developed a problem with the freezer. I've read on-line that Beko are a cheap make and not worth repairing.
I'm going to ask a domestic repair shop tomorrow what they think, but if I need to buy a new one could anyone please tell me which are the most reliable makes? And if frost free freezers develop more problems than conventional ones.

Also is it okay to place a frost-free free standing freezer in a joiner-built purpose-made tall kitchen unit? The unit has a top and sides only--no door at the front --- with about 3cm clearance at top and sides and 7cm at the back. I've recently rehoused my fridge freezer in such a unit when I had my kitchen refitted and wondering if this could be causing the problem (fridge working okay but freezer not cold enough and ice cream and bread soft)

Thanks. Any advice would be great.

Liebherr make what is arguably the best refrigeration in the world (they also manufacture for Miele). You can do what you are proposing provided the manufacturers recommended ventilation requirements are met.

I've always had frost free fridge freezers, with no problems. The first, a Hoover, lasted for over 15 years (it eventually began to leak) and the next, a Hotpoint for as long, but I gave it away as I had a free Indesit on test. The latter is about three years old, with no problems.
