now you need to find a hosting company,(put hosting in google)who will host the website that you will put on your domain.

then you have to design the website and upload it to your domain.

Hosting company is a company that will provide you with storage for your web page. For example, if I had a spare pc at home that was powerufl, I could rent it out to you as a web hosting server! You'd then attach your domain name to it so that when people go to the domain name, it goes to the server which has your web page on :)

What are you trying to design again? There are sites like frontpage which are easy to use, but the sites don't look amazing and aren't very professional...

I would recommend using a content management system. Search for Xoops, then Xoops tutorial or something. It has loads of different themes so you cna mak your site look like what you want, and then you can just download "modules" to get it to do what you want.

For example if you want a Gallery of pictures you could download the "Gallery" module. Or if you want a shopping cart the "Shopping cart" module all from the xoops site!!!! IT might look hard at first, but once you go through the documentations and get it done, its easy really ;)

It depends, basic jobby about £10 per year

Why not hang onto your cash for a bit until you have designed your site? You can then upload your site into the free space supplied by your ISP

Then you will have an idea of what it really looks like, & then ask this board for constructive criticism on the site, for instance does it work in all browsers, spelling errors [we all make & miss them] etc

About the site design, if you didn't understand a word of what was said in the other thread, considering that it was already basic, just pay someone to write your site for you.
Besides, seeing that you seem to know nothing at all about web sites, by sub-contracting the job, you are more likely to have a working site, compliant with browsers, and offer security to the user when they enter their information.
With all the competition around, you can probably get away with a minimal investment, and in the long run, it will be worth it (since the website quality will drive customers).

For reliable hosting for a small site on a server that isn't being shared with 200+ other sites, you're going to want to pay £60+ a year. Hosting is like anything else, you get what you pay for. It's a real minefield for people not used to dealing with it.

The best thing to do is check with hosting resources such as http://www.webhostingtalk.com/ where you can search for hosts and see what sort of feedback they get. Always avoid hosts who offer "unlimited" anything, there is no such thing - it's called overselling.

There's so much that can go wrong with hosting that nobody should compromise on their choice of host, unless you like losing data, or don't mind your site bing offline for periods of time, or a support section that's not online when you are etc etc, the list is long.

Choose carefully, moving away from an unsatisfactory host is like moving house!
