Sony Bravia EX4 32 - Help!!!

Just split with partner - he left me the sony bravia ex4 32. This was connected to the sky box, and until this afternoon all was fine.

Lost the sky signal and spent all afternoon online sky help/support who eventually concluded I need an engineer @ £65. Can't afford that, so they reduced it to £40. Can't afford that either now so have decided to ring Sky tomorrow and cancel it.

Anyway.......

I now want to simply watch BBC1 this evening but the tv just says "No signal". I've pressed every button on the remote - nothing.

I have no techie know-how and was never involved in setting up the tv.

I unplugged the sky box from the mains - still can't get the tv to work.

Pulled the sky scart lead from the back of the tv - ditto.

I found a manual online but that was no use.

I thought that all I needed was to plug the tv into the mains and it'd work.... but apparently not!

PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE can anyone help?!

    UPDATE!!
After dragging the tv & stand out into the room a bit I could see a cable laying underneath, with wires sticking out!

Long story short, it was the satellite cable which had somehow got pulled from it's connector.

Watched a youtube video on how to attach it and VOILA!

  • Sorry for silly Qs -

Do you have a Freeview aerial?
Is the aerial plugged in to the aerial socket on the telly?

If yes to both Qs, press the button on the remote which looks like a square with an arrow going into it (may say input), then select DTV. If it doesn't have a DTV option what are the options?
  • Ah so its fixed?

Thanks for the replies AlecEiffel but it's now fixed :)

Was the satellite cable all along (which I hadn't spotted as it was hidden under the tv stand).
