Personalised Plate

Hubby has treated me to a Personalised plate for my car for my 30th :)

We brought from the DVLA website for a good price so will do all the paper work ourselves.

I only have 4 weeks left on my MOT would be be a lot less hassle to re MOT my car before transferring the new reg across?

Thanks

The present that keeps on costing :)

Take it for an MOT within 28 days of the test date and you get 12 months + those extra days.
Puzzles me why people wait until the last day for an MOT.

Swapping reg numbers is easy. Although it may have been even easier if you had a local office that was still open. But they closed most/all? of them.

Dont forget to inform your insurance and see how much they want to sting you for swapping the plates.

You can avoid this by swapping the plate at insurance renewal time.

Thanks for the advice. Mot runs out 11th Feb so will try get it booked in this week. Unfortunately insurance isn't due for renewal until August. With direct line so will prob get charged a fee. We brought the reg online on Saturday. Dvla where the best price. Oh used a different company for his 5 years ago and they charged to do all the transfer and supply plates ect. So decided this time do do it ourselves :)

I reckon the DVLA are far too expensive for what you get.

I bought a dateless plate from Northern Ireland.

Prices start at £15 + of course the £80 fee to DVLNI.
