Excipere Cloud storage - does anyone use this or know anything about it?

I am looking for a cloud storage facility to provide backup and synching (I think that's the correct term - I want to be able to access my files from various computers). I have started to read reviews to find one suitable for my needs. There is one user on the Techie board who has extolled the wonders of a company called Excipere and their website looks good. However, when I googled 'Excipere' to look for other reviews nothing useful comes up (other than pages from Excipere's own website and posts by the aforementioned MSE Excipere enthusiast. Does anyone else know anything about Excipere or could you recommend a technophobe like me a decent cloud service for backup and synching please?
I am looking for something that is as easy/idiotproof as possible to use and reasonably priced as I need a fair bit of storage because I am a teacher with a vast number of teaching resources created in MS Publisher and Powerpoint that contain lots of images etc. I think I have around 500GB of stuff to back up and synch.

Does anyone know if Excipere is legit and/or a good company for cloud storage and synching please?“A journey is best measured in friends, not in miles.”

Never heard of it before, and having looked at their website, I wouldn't go anywhere near it.
They still think it's 2012 according to their copyright notice. Though the site looks more like it was designed in 1992.
They're a cloud company with apparently zero impact on the cloud - a google search comes up with nothing.
They'll give you 1Tb of backup space for £90. Really? How can they do that so much cheaper than Dropbox, who charge $499 a year for 500Gb?
They say they have mobile apps to access your data? Not that I can find on the Play store.
If you do decide to go for a hosted cloud solution, remember that it'll take hours and hours and hours to upload 500Gb of data, even with a fast internet connection.
Have you thought about buying a Network Attached Storage box and making your own cloud server? If you go for a QNAP or Synology box it should be pretty easy to set them up as cloud servers (I'm told - I have a cheapo Netgear Readynas with atrocious software and support).0 -

Thank you very much for your advice; I suspected it was a bit dubious but wasn't sure how/what to check.Have you thought about buying a Network Attached Storage box and making your own cloud server? I'm sorry if this is a stupid question but if I bought a Network Attached Storage box and made my own cloud server what would happen if I had a house fire or was burgled? If the Network Attached Storage box is damaged or stolen does that mean all my data would be lost?“A journey is best measured in friends, not in miles.”

If you're worried about data security, back it up 3 times, once off site, once in a fireproof safe and once on an easily accessible device. Every time you do a backup, you use one of the devices, say the easily accessible one. Once you have backed up there, then you move that device to the next location, rotating them.
If you compress the images in your publisher and presentation files, you'll find they drop down to a more usable size. This is because when you crop an image in that software, it still stores the original at full, uncropped resolution.1. Have you tried to Google the answer?

Yes, having your own NAS means you're relying on Sid Burglar not making off with it, and Leanne Water-Leake not dousing it

You could always use a third party cloud server as a back up for the most important files. If you could require access to any of the files at any time without notice, and can't afford to lose access if say your home network is down, you could always buy a second NAS, clone the files, then store that in a second, secure location.
In these situations you might want to look at some smart file sync software like Syncovery
