It's all well and good spouting the usual 'no car to show for it' and 'not enough miles' lines, but that's not relevant to the usual lease customer, is it?

As I said above, it's not something I've ever thought of doing (although that may change, as I didn't think lease deals would be that competitive on a personal contract) but your average lease customer just wants a new car every few years, for a set monthly fee, and then the freedom of choosing a new car at the end of it. So long as they get a suitable contact with enough mileage, then leasing might be the best option.

If someone wants a new car, but doesn't want the added fuss of car buying and ownership (which becomes more of an issue when buying older cars, as suggested above) and can afford to pay the premium you pay for this luxury, then who are we to say its not a good option?

And a TDCi isn't the car to be doing less than 10,000 a year in.

That's less of an issue if leasing than buying (assuming a decent warranty). Looking quickly on the website it seems all of the petrol models are more expensive to lease, so financially the diesel is clearly the better option. Although of course there is also the question of whether the OP prefers either a petrol or diesel to drive.

I wouldn't lease a car myself, but if this is the route you want this seems quite a good deal. Although I note the advert says 'from' £153.56 so there may be a catch...

But at the end of this, you have no car to show for your money, no money for another car and no choice but to get sucked into another of these "deals". If you want to live your life trapped in a circle of debt, then go for it.

It suits a lot of people and its a new car every two or three years for less than the depreciation of buying one new.

Why tie up massive amounts of capital in something thats only going to depreciate into worthlessness anyway?

    Have to agree
if the mileage was higher I could be tempted
I have gone from not really needing a car and running an old banger,to a job that means I need a car to work from various offices
