Words fail me... GAHHH!!!!

So, my last ESA payment was delayed by a week as my latest certificate arrived late but get this;

The DWP send me a letter dated the 17th of Sept which arrived on the 19th telling me my latest certificate runs out on the 19th and I need to supply them with a new one by the 20th at the latest. My GP wouldn't give me a new one until my old one ran out!!! So, I got it in the post ASAP on the 19th and call the DWP who tell me that it should be ok... The dude lied to make matters worse, it never arrives and I have to get a reprint* and take it to the jobcentre to scan and sure enough the following day a payment is made.

Therefore, this time I spoke to my GP two weeks ago and explained this and she wrote me a new one for a further 4 weeks (begrudgingly since my old one was still valid) and I post it to the DWP with my name, address and NI no. plastered all over it thinking it should arrive in good time** I called today to check as today my old one ran out... IT'S NOT ARRIVED!!! Are they taking the p%ss or what? The guy I spoke to told me to call again tomorrow and if it still hasn't arrived then I need to get a reprint posted out ASAP.

So this is the second one "lost" in the post???

*I actually have a photocopy of the last certificate beside me right now - sadly a photocopy is not acceptable but a reprint from my GP will be acceptable. The last reprint I supplied was not a full certificate but an A4 sheet with my name, address, NI no. and length of time I was off work for... It didn't even have the surgery name or my GP's signature on it??? Yet, it was SCANNED and the original reprint handed back to me???? !!!!!!??? Why isn't a photocopy good enough then??? LOL

**To cap things off, sending a copy through the post I have to allow 10 days for the post to be processed which means another late payment as my next payment is to be made in 7 days time!!! LOL I asked if I could book an appointment to go into the Jobcentre to take a reprint in to be scanned and the guy said "No, it's not an emergency"???

I had to get this out of my system as it's ridiculous I'm not in dire straits for the money as I have some in the bank still thankfully but is this what I have to look forward to in future? Who designed this system, Monty Python's Flying Circus??? All I need is a dead parrot... Oh, hang on

Oh my god... No idea if it's the new painkillers or I am genuinely becoming a member of the holier than thou crew LOL

If I read one more story about someone borrowing from Wonga because it was an emergency and nobody else would lend to them and that Wonga should never have loaned them anything despite them LYING in the first place I'm going to explode!!!

I have ZERO sympathy for anyone who fraudulently applies for a loan and then refuses to pay it back, you want to go out with your mates and have no money? STAY THE F*CK AT HOME!!! Don't lie about your income and then cry when they ask for it back... And certainly don't complain to the papers (presumably in an attempt to "sell your story") because you sound like a prize tw*t!!!

Jane from Northampton writes; I've been out of work for years because I refuse to work in a shop or as a cleaner so I took a loan out from Wonga because I wanted to go on holiday with my friends. I said on the form that I earned £1700 per month and borrowed £800 but they're now chasing me and I'm really stressed... They're making my life hell and feel I should be compensated for all the worry they put me through...

Next time, rob a jewelers! Then you can claim compensation for being arrested and thrown into prison for being a !!!!!!!!! Grrr...

LOL, obviously there are others who share my opinion...

I'm not a horrible person really, I know there are those who got caught up in the spiraling web of debt that PDL's can cause when all they're trying to do is put food on the table and pay the bills.

However, there are equal (if not more) numbers of stories appearing in the media about idiots "suffering" for their fraud as there are genuine cases that I can sympathise with and skewing the perception of the nation into thinking that one is as bad as another! It's Benefits Street all over again, poverty !!!!!! at the expense of the needy.

Just realised, nobody called from the DWP on Saturday like they promised to... SURPRISE!

Oh well, I guess I'll call back on Monday at least I should be able to get sorted before my next ESA payment is due.

Good news, some fella from the DWP called me back and we got everything sorted

He wasn't sure why I was offered a call back on Saturday since they don't actually work on Saturdays but it's in hand now and the certificate has arrived and better yet, he has extended the date of when it runs out to accommodate a weekend so it runs out the day after I receive a payment to give me plenty of time to get the new one

Actually a really decent guy, seemed confident in what he was doing and was very polite and helpful - I couldn't have asked for better (ok, maybe a call on Saturday but I'll gloss over that lol).

Today has been a bit of a trial, Mums hearing aids broke and as she uses 2 and is otherwise as deaf as a post I wasn't looking forward to the week delay in getting her in to see someone in the audiology dept. BUT using my dexterous hands and a rolling pin (used delicately) I fixed them!!! Who knew? LOL maybe that could be my new career?

Other than that, things have been fairly quiet... I'll soon be finding out where I stand financially with work, I'll be glad to get that sorted as it's still up in the air hopefully I can get back to work, I'm really really bored now... Yawn

I'm with you on the wonga - why am I not getting my money back malarky.. bored of it.. they borrowed it.. pay it back and for those who got let off well good for them.. its driving me nuts reading about it all over the threads.. I would probably feel different if I had a wonga loan mind you.:rotfl:

Hey Puzz, yeah... those ROTFL men are making me a bit queezy too...

I recently read online (I'd include a link but I can't find the page now) about a woman who racked up debts of over £31k buying things for her kids "because she didn't want her to not have what her friends have" which included almost £8k in payday loans which she got by lying on the application forms! She believed that not enough was done to ensure she wasn't lying in the fist place so it's not her fault???

Money well spent, I'd be tempted to take everything back but I guess that would breach her human rights... So blasted annoying

Mind you, while I'm on my soap box (LOL) I was reading in the paper today about the increasing rift between those who have money and those who don't... In it a woman who is 32 and has 12 kids to 9 different fathers and has never worked (never been stood up long enough to go to the Job Centre perhaps?) but lives in an expensive area of London in a Council "mansion" is disgusted that those who live nearby have so much while she struggles on so little!!! She is disgusted at people who aren't creating their own private army but instead going out and earning a living (ok, so some may be born into their money)??? The mind boggles
