Hi, I'm an 85 yr old invalid and only have one eye which has a cataract, I have been sending dual fuel meter readings online, I now find the electric meter difficult to read as it is dial type, 26 yr old, I recently spoke to BG CS with regard to changing it to more modern one, either digital or Smart meter, I was told that…

The problem is not how old the meter is but when the meter was last recertified. The meter could be 30 years old but if if was certified 10 years ago it could have a useful life of another 10 years. In this instance the supplier is not going to change it until the bulk roll out of smart meters starts.
