Morning all,
grey here and a bit windy but no frost and not as cold as \I thought. No doubt that will change steadily!
DH under the weather with what we call "short colon syndrome"; he is like an oversized Mo Farrah rushing upstairs. It will be a quiet day I think as he is quire tired.
I have soup to freeze and various bits of mending to sort out, and I need to re-dye my shoes as they are looking patchy. I got rid of my 'everyday' shoes yesterday, so these are the next I must start wearing out.
Re the cribbage - we now have special set (boasting!) with turned pegs. Also, we have a very basic board DH's mate made, complete with the obligatory match sticks - it is something we can't get rid of as we've played on it for 30 years.
Julie: keep on trucking, my friend has had similar and it does take a while but it is worth it.
Crowdpleaser:I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
DH said he was cold at 11am, the heating goes off at 9am, it is unusual for him to feel the cold
BG still not gone down, but it is early days with the new drug, so I am still feeling like carp.
Went to the shed to get some potatoes out and they have all gone mouldy, so that is half a sack that I had to throw outI have some HM roasties in the freezer luckily so we will have them. I think that it is because it has been so mild and wet.
Going to see the outlaws after dinner so that will be nice, I love MIL to pieces and am rather fond of FIL aka "Victor Meldrew" as well.
Julie (((((Hugs))))) just think that by the summer you will be back to a normal-ish life ((((Hugs))))
Belated birthday wishes crowdpleaser
It has gone very dark all of a sudden and DH is just driving DD to her friend's house, they are having a girly day, she will eat there.
Must go and check the chicken
BFN xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Hello all.
Hope everyone is well x
Quiet Sunday here. We've fixed the letter box & put some draught excluder on the front door. Hopefully that will cut down a bit on the draught. I need to get a curtain for the door, and some net for the glass next to it.
I've cleaned the utility room and the bathrooms today. Need to do some hoovering later. And some ironing.
Making a gammon for tea. It came from a meat hamper that I got at Christmas. It was such a good bargain, the meat hamper. I've got a small portion of pork left, no idea what to do with that though as have never cooked a pork joint. And it is very small. Any ideas? Thanks.
Take things easy Julie xxx
Happy birthday for yesterday crown pleaser xxx The black dog is always chomping at my heels. Things always feel worse when the black dog is here x
Not much else to say today.
Love, hugs & spoons xxx0 -
Afternoon all,
DS2 still isn't home from staying at his friend's house last night. I sent him a text and told him not to outstay his welcome!
DH and I have been up to the woods for a mooch this morning after his friend popped in for a chat. It was very muddy and great fun, after all that's what wellies are for!
It was lovely and sunny first thing but now its turned very dull an dismal. It was frosty first thing but strangely enough the heating didn't kick in at all.
We have had big discussions about DH's car which failed it's MOT on Friday (can't remember if I mentioned it or not). We had it to pull the caravan which is very large and heavy. We are trying to decide whether it may be more cost effective to buy a smaller car and store the caravan on a site where we can have it 'pulled out' for weekends. So that's my task for this week; doing costings for that.
DH is making pasta for tea - something he has seen on tv I believe.0 -
Afternoon Everyone
Cold and not too bright today but it isn't raining! DD and I went for a bike ride this morning along the tow path by the river, it was icy in places and DD did her usual - fell off! She's ok, just got a shock and banged her knee. I think she's a bit gung-ho on DS2s bike. Stopped for a coffee and saw some bronze hares in a shop so will go back in the car shortly to buy a couple. They are all different, stand about 8" high and quite heavy so couldn't carry them in my rucksack. After the burglary in August I didn't replace the jewellery as I couldn't find anything I really liked that much but I like these and they will give me far more pleasure.
Just made lc crackers from almond flour and some biscuits which will keep us going this week. I only have 2 days at home then I am off to an outdoor centre for 3 days (2 nights) so don't want to get too much in.
Julie - Glad you are improving, won't be long till you are running about!
RR - Hope your leak is fixed, mine is!! Really pleased with my DIY skills.
crowdpleaser - Happy Birthday for yesterday, hope you feel better soon.
Hugs to all not feeling up to scratch - luxor I was laughing at the thought of DH's impression of Mo!
Take care. XX0 -
DH has gone to a family party this afternoon , I didn't go because of my back , then I've managed to pull the curtain rail off the wall , it's just come out of the brackets . I've struggled to put it back up as a couple of the brackets have broken , DH won't be impressed when he gets back
I've made a couple of bottle covers for the guinea pigs hot bottles and a little fabric bag to put my sewing machine foot pedal and wires in . It tucks under the arm of the machine now without constantly slipping out :j
Julie hope you,are doing ok x
Looking forward,to dancing on ice tonight0 -
