This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Bonjour
Thought I would start you off as I am an hour ahead of you. DH needed more sleep so I pinch an half hour browse.
OS breakfast of Aldi Weetabix in the hotel room. Only bread and jam if we went in for brekky, don't have the time and too tightfisted.
7-8 hours drive today so better get a wiggle on.
((Hugs)), spoons, etc., take care everyone. DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club

Have a great day Donny-gal.
Had a bit of a disturbed nights sleep last night so thought I may as well get up early and leave OH to have a lie in.
My parents usually pop in on Sunday mornings, and later on OH will take youngest to his Footie match - if it's still on; I think it should be, the frost and ice will have thawed by then and it didn't rain yesterday.
Not looking forward to all the mud he brings back with him though!
Not much else planned other than a bit of washing.
Roast Lamb for dinner.
Have a good day all x0 -
Good morning chums well maybe talking of frost yesterday brought a severe one this morning (memo to myself :talk about sunshine
:):):))
My goodness it really is a chilly one this morning, but beautiful as well as the garden looks as though its been sprinkled with glitter.
I did lots of cooking yesterday and now have enough soup to float a boat and all the apples I was donated have been peeled, cooked and portioned into the freezer.I even managed to re-install my printer and replace the ink cartridges, now I just have to work out why half of the print is missing when I print. Grr I hate printers I have yet to get one that works well.
Eldest DD is coming this morning for her coffee and eggs, then afterwards I have promised to take youngest DD and DGS Ben to Bluewater as he wants to buy his Games system.DD wona heap of Bluewater vouchers from work before Christmas and gave them to DGS Ben towards his gadget that he wants to get with his Christmas/birthday money that he has saved up.
I'm not keen on big shopping centres but as I am not buying anything I shall probably find a coffee and a quiet spot to sit and watch the world and his wife go by.I love people watching, its great fun and free:):)
Hope everyone is safe and dry
Keep wrapped up warm chums its a chilly one today
Cheers JackieO xxx
P.S donny-gal just read that you are going through Pau,that's where my family originated from after the edict of Nantes and escaped to the UK in aound 1645, so I am an immigrant:)
luxor I used to play crib with my late OH and he too was excellent at 'counting the cards' I loved the game and its so rarely seen these days I haven't played in over 10 years.Great fun though0 -
Good Morning All
Very frosty here this morning but lovely bright sunshine.
Had one of those do nothing days yesterday - couldn't set my mind to anything so today will be more productive.
DS' footie match has been cancelledso he is still fast asleep, he wants to spend the last of his Nando's vouchers today so we are off there for lunch so will probably be beans on toast tonight.
I will get all the ironing done today and spend at least 1 hour in my office while OH & DS watch football this afternoon. I feel much better when I have had a headstart on the week. Will get chicken out of the freezer which we would have been having today and do a roast tomorrow instead.
Thats it for me - have a lovely Sunday.x0 -
Morning all
I hope you have a good journey, DG.
Hugs to Molly, Hilly & LW.
Heavy frost here too, the sky was very red when I got up this morning.
I need to make soup for my lunches next week & some ready meals for hubby's lunches. Roast pork for lunch today with roast potatoes, roast parsnips, cabbage, carrots from the garden, stuffing & yorkies. Then no more cooking for me for a week, hubby is on lates & doesn't want a meal when he gets in at 10. I don't bother to cook a meal just for me, I'll have egg on toast or beans on toast for a few days.
I need to iron hubby's uniform today but shan't do much else, a lazy day for me, I'll just carry on knitting baby clothes.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.0 -
Sorry for being mia for so long. Black dog is here.
Yesterday wasy birthday and after working my choice was to go for s walk in the woods for some geocaching. We did half hour then dd1 fell in mud so we came home. I got nothing for my bday. Diddly squat. I think coz bd is here im more upset by this than I normally would be.
Anyway. Todays activities include washing ironing n hoovering. We have been invited to a friends this aft so may go there to let the kids play. Will probably dig out one of dd1s craft sets she got for chrimbo and play with that.
Hope everyone has a good day x0 -
Good morning everyone
Cold one here today with lots of frost. Was sunny earlier but is clouding over now.
Been up since early but loads of jobs to catch up on. First lot of washing is drying, second load is in the machine, DH is preparing to iron his shirts.
Slept for longer last night but kept dreaming about work and the things I need to do, then waking up! Maybe I should keep a list by the side of the bed.
Went a bit mad in M&S yesterday and only went in for a tiny treat. They have a 3 for 2 on all of their frozen food, DH and I are both addicted to scallops but they are so expensive and we ended up buying 3 bags to break up as small portion weekend treats. Not very OS at all
Need to be extra good for the rest of the month to make up for this.
Managed to stay awake for both episodes of The Bridge last night. I have really missed the BBC4 Saturday night Scandinavian Crime Noir and am absolutely loving this one, Saga is just wonderful.
Crowdpleaser - am so sorry to hear about BD visit and birthday disappointment, I hope things improve for you soon x
Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for anyone who needs or just wants them. Keep well, warm and safe and have a super dayLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

My back is bad today really spasmy if that's a word , anyhow I'm sat with a hot water bottle on it , that usually helps
Going to make a couple of hot water bottle covers for the guinea pig bottles as the old ones are really tatty I've got some old fleece that I can use .
Have a good day everyone xx0 -
Morning all,
Cold and frosty here too but at least there is no rain (atm!). We think OH managed to fix the leaky roof yesterday, we have to wait for rain to be certain but he is almost sure its done.
Bedding is in the wm will get dd to strip hers when she gets in later, will try and hang on the line for a while.
Dinner today will be lamb casserole with lots of butter beans and chick peas to bulk it out. I shall put it in the SC after this and carry on with the painting of the wardrobes.
Think I will have a lazy afternoon and watch a film or have a nap !
Have good days all and safe trip DG xx0 -
Morning all,
Need to get back to posting every day, my routine is all over the place.
A week tomorrow, since my op. I think the swelling has gone down. I have some gorgeous bruises. I'm doing my exercises but they are painful. My hubby says I'm walking better, with my crutches, and I think my knee is bending a fraction more but it's going to be a long job.
Dh helped me to shower and dry my hair and put a touch of makeup on so I feel a little bit more human.
I've had absolutely no appetite but quite fancy a curry tonight so hubby will make me one. He is wonderful, I couldn't have managed without him.
TTFTM I'm another huge fan of the bridge, I think Saga is a wonderful character.
Someone mentioned cribb. My dad plays every week in the pub and often sat at the kitchen table with my brother. I have no idea how to play but I know a special board and matchsticks are used
Anyone hope you are all ok. I will do my best to pop in tomorrow xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.
