I wouldn't tell them......if they do contact you then say you informed them by post.

Switching insurers changes nothing. The point is that if you tick the box to say that you've had no accidents in the last 5 years you're lying and the new insurer would be justified in voiding your policy.

Yes plenty of people do it and plenty get away with it, but if you do get caught out the consequences could be severe.

    Exactly.

When you apply for new quotes you have to give your history, and confirm your application is truthful.

So your wheeze posted above, (about lying that you wrote in at the time of the incident to your insurer, and the letter must be lost in the post) won't work!

Quentin works for an insurance company, hence a one sided arguement. If the guy was happy and to be honest a reasonable cost to repair dont report unless they ask.
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

    When did Quentin change jobs?

Secondly, which "they" are you referring to? If they are the insurance company then they all ask at renewal.

To clarify, I dont work for an insurer either but my clients are all insurers. It is a balanced argument to say you should report it, most wouldnt, there is a risk in not reporting with severe consequences. Ultimately the OPs choice if they want to run the risk or not.
