Housing Benefit Suspended *Solved*
Comments
-
A couple of my elderly neighbours have had these letters - frightening the life out of them, when it is just a random review.
They could surely review, as they used to, without suspension first?
But what really aggravates me is, in these parts, they have hived off HB to a certain well known private provider, and I have seriously never met a more incompetent mob in my life - they are notorious with mucking up the most simple of claims, even when proof has been supplied at every stage!
I, thankfully, don't have to get involved with them, but most of my road does, and it's chaos at times, because they bring the letters to me to try and sort out what's gone wrong.
I would have been sacked if I had been this inefficient when I worked for the DWP and Housing Benefits.
They overpay or underpay with impunity, ignoring verified evidence of income etc., but all the council have to say is that 'they offered the cheapest tender'. :wall:
Perhaps Gorgeous George and Dismal Duncan Smith could get official assessments more accurate to save money before they worry about reviews....

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.

My Local Authority uses a certain well know private sector provider if we ever have massive backlogs. After several years the staff (not senior management or the Directors) know they create more chaos and work and overpayments due to wrong benefit paid. When we know the workload is growing we work our socks off so our work doesn't get hived off to people who don't care about the quality of their work as they will never be held responsible. These are my own views and you should seek advice from your local Benefits Department or CAB.0
