Credit checks and changing utility suppliers?

Hi

I was wondering if anyone could help me....

I'm moving into my first flat shortly (after house sharing for some time!) and will possibly be changing energy supplier and taking out contracts for home phone and broadband.

I have a high credit score but have read this can be pulled down by applying for credit etc and by companies looking at your report. If I take out contracts with new suppliers all in one go when I start my tenancy could I be affected?

Several credit application searches close together can have a short term impact on your ability to get credit.
But only a short term impact. After 3-6months the searches are unlikely to be having any further impact.

Thank you for you help, that's great. Nothing I can do if I need to set up for utilities and council tax etc!
