HSBC PPI - Advice appreciated!

Options
I hope I am posting in the right place and someone can offer me some advice!

I took out a HSBC loan in c.2002 (I can’t find the paperwork for this original loan) it was for £5000 & included additional PPI.
In 2006, I increased the loan (in person in a bank) to £10,720 and the PPI, which amounted to £2420 was added automatically onto the loan. I was told that to take on/be considered for the new loan amount I had to continue with PPI.
In Jan 2007, I increased the loan again (over the telephone – all paperwork was sent out after the call) to £11,900, the PPI was £2690. I don’t recall any discussion over continuing the PPI, it just came with the new loan paperwork.
In July 2007, I was made redundant. Sometime in late 2007 I went into my bank and said I was having difficulty making the repayments and could I make reduced payments for a period of time. The bank advisor made a phone call in my presence and I was told they would not accept lower payments. I asked what the ‘insurance’ on the loan was for and asked why I was paying for it. The bank advisor gave me a number (that I now assume was to the PPI people) and advised me to call them. I called them, they said they would send some forms out, but I was probably not eligible for anything. The forms never arrived, I didn’t make a claim. I found another job and continued paying the loan in its entirety until it was paid off in full in 2009.

I closed all my HSBC accounts in 2010 and in 2011 moved house, got married and changed my name!

My questions are:
Do I have a valid claim to reclaim the PPI? I thought I understood what PPI was for initially – it appeared I was wrong – then I didn’t understand I could stop the PPI for the further loans.
Will my closing all HSBC accounts mean they won’t consider me?
Now that I’ve moved address/changed my surname, will they even discuss it with me? (If so, how should I provide them with me new details?)

I apologise if these are silly questions, I have the Ombudsman Form and I am just getting very confused about what name/address, which loan number etc I should put on there! Any advice MUCH appreciated,
THANK YOU.

Use single premium on a consolidated chain of loans as a reason
Use good work benefits and sick pay if you had them as another
Fill in the forms with your new address.
They'll ask you for proof if they need to verify your name/address.
Put one lan number per form, or add all loan numers to one form, it doesn't matter which.

So you could have made a claim on the PPI but didn't...

What a joke. Did you expect HSBC to fill them out for you
