Try it, put your work email address in and if it works, then your employer is part of the program, if it doesn't then no harm done.
It may have changed in recent years but it wasnt a "personal" copy, it was an extension of your employers copy but intended for personal home use.
In the T&Cs was the requirement that you remove it if you cease to be employed by the employer that you obtained it through however this isnt/wasnt enforced at all.
As said, may have changed but it was when I first got office 2007 through it and didnt bother checking when upgrading to 2010 and 2011 (mac)0
