Weekly Spend Challenge W/C 12th January 2014

Hello everyone. Welcome to the Weekly Spend Challenge. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in. Everyone is welcome here.
On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. The challenge runs from Sunday to Friday so we don't include Saturdays but feel free to change the rules to suit you and include Saturdays or start on a different day.
Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track. We colour code the results as below:
Green - within budget
Red - over budget
Purple - zero spend
Orange - made money over the week
This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever.
Moozie was the founder of this challenge and here is a quote taken from her:

I'm back again for this week. Needed to get Christmas and a couple of weekends away out if the way and now back on plan.
I'd like to pledge £40 this week please. Hoping my spend will be less than thus but have a social week coming up.Determined to save and not squander!

Hi again!
I'm going to pledge £15 for next week please.
As for last week, technically I made £10 spent £36.51 but most of it was on a PayPal Buy Now Pay Later, and it's not giving me the option to pay now! Still record it for last week and I'll just have to make sure I don't dip into those funds between now and the 21st!
I will post a confirmed total at the end of today as I'm thinking I might go for a saunter around some charity shops and maybe get fish and chips for lunch as I'm on my own.0 -
Hi guys, OK I had a BAD "no willpower" week. I'm completely in the RED by spending £49/£25 :O
I had a bit of an ebay spree (doesn't feel like spending money when its online)
This week I will pledge £40. I will be taking it out of the bank & spending that & only that!

Hi all
So so so red last week - £95.06/£50 but the unplanned physio appointment was the thing that scuppered it but not too disappointment.
Anyway I would like to go for £40 this week:D.

I shouldn't need more than £20 of food this week, the car has petrol in it and I'm in NSD and Lunch To Work challenges, so I shouldn't need to spend much on me (she says!) I need to post parcels which are an unknown as one is going to the US, so I'll budget for that here...

Going to Tesco was a bad idea
£96.92/£40 for last week, and that's even taking into account the £10 that I made!
Tesco have duvets and pillows on half price ending tomorrow. I can only defend my behaviour by saying that my duvet and pillows are at least 10 years old and they are manky and I have wanted to replace them for well over a year, so there. Hoping I get some money on Monday (my birthday!) to make up for this here blip. :rotfl:0
