Late billing

Apologies if this is the wrong forum.

My mother in law has just been billed a call out charge for work to her stair lift over a year and a half after the work was done, she didn't have to pay for parts and labour just the call out, does she have to pay as it's a mistake on the repairers part.

It's not very clear from your message.

If you mean she has been incorrectly charged for some aspect of the work she doesn't have to pay.

If she did owe the money, but wasn't asked for it at the time, she does have to pay.

Companies have 6 years to chase for money you owe them. As Thumbremote said, its not clear from your post whether the repairers mistake was forgetting to send the bill for money owed or for thinking your mother owes money that she doesn't owe.
  • Thanks for your replies, I think they just forgot to send the bill, because she has had no correspondence from them since 2012
