on line purchase

Hi I ordered a steam cleaner from an online company on 6th Dec, I received an email confirming my order straight away. A few days later I received another email stating that the product had become temp out of stock, but that my order would be despatched after 18th Dec. I replied stating I was happy to wait until that date.
However over the Xmas period I received no item, I attempted contact with the company via email on several ocassions but received no further replies. On looking at their site i was greeted with the words ' telephone lines temp down' but this has been the same now for several weeks!
I have emailed again this company & even tried to trace the telephone number through the post code etc, but i cant find any contact details for this company.
The company that I am referring to is called HOTPICKSDIRECTUK.

Does anyone have any idea how I can get my money back from this company? The site is still there & I could order something today from it. I paid nearly £100 for this item with delivery!

Thank you in advance for any help & advice you can give me.

How did you pay for the steam cleaner? If it was by debit or credit card then contact your provider and ask them to issue a chargeback.

Part of the Furniture 10,000 Posts Name Dropper Combo Breaker
Is this the company you used: http://www.hotpicksdirect.co.uk/

There is a Birmingham address on their contact us webpage together with the message: Our Telephone Service Is Offline Temporarily

Frugal_mike has already given you good advice.
  • Yes that is the company and that message has been showing for weeks now, and i tried using the address to trace them too. I will check how I paid for the item and get onto my bank.

    Thank you
