Think I will store the 'buffet' idea for later on. I agreed to take my daughter to the Whitby Goth Weekend, for her 13th in October. What I normally do though since my son's birthday at the end of summer holidays, so no one turns up to parties, is have a joint 'who done it' theme party at halloween. Very MSE as I am killing 3 birds with 1 stone:D 2 x birthday and halloween.19th March 2007 LBM£5,969.63 1st January 2018 £5960.18, 1st January 2019 £11,032.0018th August 2023 £12,435.00, Student Loan £22244.00 From 2009-12Challenges: To learn to stop spending..0

I let my daughter and 4 of her mates have a girly pamper. Facial and skin care lesson and make up. They then had their photograph taken, They thought it was brilliant, and have lovely memory of the day. To keep the price down we only had a few best friends, but really enjoyed the special treatment0

Thats what I did too.....booked them into a salon. They had a facial, manicure, pedicure and their hair washed and blow dried. They loved it....she also had wanted a limo but I just couldnt justify it. It wasnt so much the cost but the fact they had nothing to show at the end of it.DS Anthony Steven 07.06.92DD Becky Emma 24.01.94DD Rose Grace Jean 12.05.090 -
Hi,
ive just been to a 13th party and the theme was 'Hawian', they all had grass skirts and garlands bought cheap off Ebay.
They loved it, she had the limbo, kids cocktails with fancy straws etc, hawian decorations and balloons - she even had a little sand pit!!!
Everyone had a great time and it didn't break the bank :T0 -

Hiya guy's, My 13th is coming up in February in this year, i need some REALLY cheap idea's, as my mum said i have a have a budget. She also said to me, It is either more present's or a Birthday party... Now.. every girl and boy LOVES getting present's, But however, i REALLY want a birthday party, ALL of my friend's are having one, and i dont find it fair that they can have one and i cant..
I REALLY like the idea of the Hawaiin Themed Party, and i would like to take around 4 people to a massage or makeover parlour before so we have a FULL-ON unique look to the other's. And it dosn't seem to cost much either, if i can have some other idea's before February from you guy's.. It would be GREAT! .. I am turning 13 remember, so it is a BIGGY!! ... Thanks for reading. Hi All
Congrats to all turning 13 year olds - it is a mile stone for you all but you do have to remember costs !!!
My DD had had a really difficult year so we decided to 'push the boat out' for her 13th
We had looked at pizza hut and cinema for her and 5 friends and had calculated about £150 which seemed alot for something fairly average ...... so with her birthday (and mine) being in August we hired a hot tub for a week !!!
With it being over the summer bank holiday we actually got the tub for 10 days but paid for 7 days which was around the £200 mark (a couple of years ago)
I know this is still alot but such a great one off idea and we were able to chill out in the tub for the week after
We didnt go away in the summer that year as this was our week off from work ~ so im our minds that was also part of the cost
Food wise BBQ stuff and mocktails to drink ~ she didnt tell her friends what they were doing but bring a towel swimsuit and change of clothes
All went very well despite the weather being against us that year so we bought a cheap gazebo to go over the top of the tub
Hope this helps and doesnt start too many arguements for parties

THE CHOCOLATE GAME
What u need: A big block of chocolate, a knife, fork, 2 scarves, a plate, a die (dice) and 2 beanies. How to play: Everyone sits around a table with everything on the table. A scarf and beanie is at each end of the table, with the knife, fork, unwrapped block of chocolate on the plate in the middle. One person starts by rolling the dice. If you get a six then you have to put on the scarf and beanie. Only then can you go for the chocolate. But the catch is you have to cut it up square by square. And of course, once u got a square, u eat it! The die goes round the table as everyone else trys to get a six. If once someone does, the person who's got the chocolate has to stop immediately, take off the scarf and beanie and is trying to get a six like everyone else. The game goes until the chocolate is all gone. SO MUCH FUN!! (WARNING: you may feel slightly sick after this game from eating too much chocolate!)
COTTON BALL TRANSFER
What u need: 2 icecream tubs, a spoon, blindfold, 2 chairs and HEAPS of cotton balls!!! Setting up: Put the 2 chairs facing each other about 2/3 metres apart. Remove all sharp objects from playing area as someone may run into it. Put a icecream tub on each chair, one of them is filled with cotton balls. How 2 play: Okay, this game may sound boring but it is SSOOO funny to watch!!!! One person is blindfolded and spun around 3 times/until dizzy. Lead them over the the chair with the cotton balls. Give them the spoon (the right way up!). The aim of the game is that by using the spoon, transfer as many cotton balls to the other tub as you can within a certain time limit. This game is hilarious to watch as people think they are walking towards the other tub but are going the opposite direction! 1 time a girl dropped a spoon, then when she picked it up, it was the wrong way! She spent the rest of the time trying to pick up the cotton balls, thinking she was. But in fact she couldn't get any at all!!! A MUST DO game!
Have a great party!!:D xoxo0 -
