Tablet query - sorry another one!

Hi All, apologies for another 'which tablet' thread but i need some opinions and am sure you guys will oblige:
I'm planning to get OH a tablet for his birthday (lucky him
) he uses his current (old, slow, nearly on the antiques roadshow) laptop for mainly reading web blogs, internet browsing and streaming sports (football).
Based on this I think a 10" would be better than a 7".
I'm looking at Android over iOS as I do have an iPad myself
(yes, i know its not :money: to have two tablets but we both use the internet a lot, and the TV less and less, he's been using my iPad to date and seems to like it but I think if we're going to be a 2 tablet house it would make 'sense' to have two different operating systems)
Have narrowed it down to Google Nexus 10 or Samsung Galaxy Tab.
Pros and cons I've thought of:
Nexus 10
Samsung
I'm not fussed about 3G / 4G - got the wi-fi only iPad after deciding how much would it really be used when no wi-fi is available? Did get the 32GB storage though as wasn't sure if 16GB would really be enough in the long run.
Whatever i get isn't going to be replaced in the near future so I want to get something that isn't going to be totally obsolete in a short period of time (well as much as any tech these days)
Any thoughts / suggestions on what might be a better option over the other?

- 32GB version available - but no way to expand this
- rumours of immintnet rlease of 10.2 - although CES has now been and gone.
- if the 10.2 gets announced in the next few weeks, could the 10 go down in price significnatly, or as the 10 was released back in 2012, would the 10.2 be a better option anyway?
Samsung
- Seems 16GB version only available, but possible expansion via MicroSD slot
- Just announced the Galaxy Pro - but no price or availability date yet. Is it a bit OTT to get this latest version for what OH uses it for?

Key is do you want add on storage or not .
Supposedly the cloud now replaces add on storage .
Streaming sports if that's from a non official source they are rather flaky .0 -
Sports tend to be via SkyGo or BT sport.
Neither of us download much, take lots of photos or video etc. didn't really think about the advantage of cloud storage :doh:Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

It would depend on how he is streaming sports, if there are Android applications for the sites he is using then he should be fine but if it's through a browser using a flash video player that could be more difficult. Flash is no longer officially supported in Android so if flash is needed for the sports sites then it may be better considering one of Atom powered Windows 8 tablets. Intel have made a big step on with the new Atom (known as Bay Trail, Z3xxx series) processors so they offer decent performance and solid batterylife but are cheap as well. The Asus Transformer T100 and the Del Venue Pro 11 both use this processor.

Flash works on Android .
Plus a number of browsers have it built in .0 -

From what I have read, Flash is slowly dying anyway, with Adobe stopping dev work on it some time ago and KitKat 4.4 not supporting it. I see there are some workarounds possible but tbh, I doubt there is anything that vital OH will want to require that.
I have had a look at the Windows 8 tabs, but tbh I'm not that taken with them. Guess it's getting used to the look / feel of windows 8 in part, but I had a Htc windows phone before android and in comparison I prefer android. Not that this is for me of course :rotfl:Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Yes Adobe stopped flash but many many sites still use flash
.
KK is only a matter of visiting Adobe and downloading the latest version of flash .0
