parking ticket from waitrose

Hi I'm from Ringmer near lewes and got a parking fine 2 days ago when parked in the car park at lewes waitrose. Honestly i had slightly overstayed my time but not by a lot. I've read the newbies thread but there was a lot to take in and i didn't really understand a lot of it. I get that i might not have to pay it but don't really know what to do now. My ticket said i hadn't displayed a valid ticket for my stay on the front if that helps

Sorry if this sounds a bit stupid - Thanks

and does the newbies thread also tell you to WAIT !!

ie:- wait for the NTK to come in 29 to 56 days ?

is that what it says ?

if so, thats plenty of time to keep reading that NEWBIES thread and get up to speed ;)

does it also tell you to complain to the shop or landowner too, to get the ticket cancelled by them ?

    I think it does

seems quite straightforward up to now eh ? :)

also scan the parking ticket you bought (if you bought one) and keep it safe

How do i complain to the landowner?

well for starters read post #24 here https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4833321

so finding out landowner details is never easy, but you could do an online request to the land registry , pay your £2.50p or whatever it is and ask them

check if your PCN lists the creditor

then read your NTK as it will list the creditor (when it arrives)

but one reason I mentioned the word SHOP is because they should know who the landowner is, and you wont be the first to have had a pcn so the shop manager should know the ropes

the thing is that you need to learn to think "outside the box" and learn to be pro-active , seeking all avenues of redress

    ie:- do some research etc

so to answer you exact question , I would complain to the shop, and ask them whilst doing so , even if its their head office or their CEO

after all, IF the landowner was the shop, then clearly your complaint is with them

OP, do you have a Facebook profile? Might be worth posting on the Waitrose page. I'd be interested to know their attitude to private parking tickets.
  • Cheers I'll go back there in the morning :D. Am happy to hear theres brighton support on the site maybe one of you has been to or knows the lewes waitrose?

I don't know Lewes Waitys but we know they (Waitys) cancel fake PCNs for people, as I show in the links in 'Successful complaints about PPCs'. I also wrote the Newbies thread that confused you a bit - please just take another look. You need to make sure you don't miss the appeal deadline if Waitys are slow to respond.

    And it's not a fine.

Seagulls!! Love your avatar, I am a season ticket holder and so is at least one other regular on here.

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
