Halifax balance transfer card 0.8% fee

I have recently BT'd 2.5k to a new Halifax All in One card and been charged the 3% fee with a promise of 2.2% rebate. The T&Cs allow 90 days for the rebate but just wondered how long it usually took in practice?

Comments

  • Sorry to bump this but now at 60 days and no sign of any rebate. Should i phone now? Or wait the full 90 days?

As you say, they state that they'll rebate within 90 days so it sounds like they're still acting within their Ts & Cs but if not knowing is bothering you then phoning may shed some light on when to expect your rebate.

You should wait for 3 reasons:

    1. The T&Cs say 90 days.
    2. You might be preventing someone with a genuine problem getting through to them.
    3. If they don't pay up within 90 days you make a complaint, citing the phone calls necessary and time you've expended, and receive (at least) £25. :D

I'd phone them, I got the 2.2% refund after 3 days of opening the card and doing the transfer.

4 days for mine with no intervention from me.
  • If you phone them, they will say 'you will need to wait for 90 days' simple as, you say you were promised the 2.2%, is that in writing?
To be honest it takes up to 90 days, depending how you applied, if you don't get it and you have it in writing then as Yorkshireboy said complain:)
  • Typical. Post this yesterday. Log on this morning to get phone number and rebate has appeared. Job done.

Well least it shows it is not always being done in a few days but some are taking a month. maybe saving some people from calling.
All that glitters is not gold.
