epson sx610fw, connected wi-fi, windows 8 laptop, latest epson driver fitted, using picasa3 for editing/printing.
it just keeps stopping half way through a job, mainly on more detailed things like photo's/diagrams, word/text documents seem to be ok.
using sky fibre hub, wi-fi. have tried usb from lappie direct to printer & didn't help.
have cleared all items out of windows temp folder & rebooted, no difference.
advanced settings on printer set to 'print direct', this did seem to work for a while, but the problem is now back.
anything else i can try? help!
thanks

If the error occurs both direct connected through USB and wireless I'd discount the wi-fi as an issue. Any chance you have a USB flash drive that you can use to print directly rather than through the laptop to see if it's the printer itself that is a problem. One other thing to try is use the basic windows to print rather than picasa3 just to discount that as an issue.0

this problem started (or coincided perhaps) when i was using the basic windows programme to print, that's why i changed to picasa (along with changing to 'print direct to printer' instead of spooling, which had cleared this ussue, until now).
if the printer is working ok for text documents, will using a flash drive direct tell me anything? my logic is telling me it's down to the amount of data that's trying to be transmitted when printing photo's/more detailed stuff. i did actually manage to get 2 photo's printed out on 1 A4 sheet earlier, when trying to print 4 photo's on 1 sheet, it kept stopping half way. i don't think there's anything wrong with the printer itself, but who know's, i don't!

just in case anyone else ever searches for something similar, i think i've discovered the problem. it's a conflict with AVG Free, Web Browsing Protection, LinkScanner Surf Shield. turn this off during printing & i can print photo's ok again.
happy days!

AVG
- almost as worthless as norton and mcafee - if you must get a free one go the avast route.
still amazed as to why people bother with virus protection - does anyone still click weird links or open email attatchments from nigerian princes dispensing a fortune
