I've just caught up with your diary :)

Congratulations on the new house and baby on the way.

Sorry to hear about the boiler issues, ours died 3 months after we moved in! At least your seller's are going to pay although I'm sure that's a headache in itself.

I would say don't buy a changing mat yet - ask it as a present if you can.
Did you get your free Boots changing bag from joining their baby club? There's a decent changing mat in their for out and about too :)

    better run.......

What a busy 6 months :) I can't believe I've been away that long! My baby girl is now 5 months old and Incan start thinking about other things! I overpaid the mortgage by £50 today. Our first overpayment :)

A lot of priorities have shifted since Wee Cutie arrived. I'm going to try and return to work on a P/T basis which means money will be a little tighter than we're used to but that's ok. I'd still like to overpay as much as I can while enjoying our wee home and life as a family of 3!

I'm having a tough time deciding on priorities just now. I feel really motivated to accomplish things but I want too many things and nothing is being achieved.

    The things I want:
*To spend lots of time with my gorgeous daughter. I can't believe how much she changes very week! Today she's been nodding her head at me while I talk- soo cute!

*To live within a budget and curtail spending on unnecessary things. I keep buying the baby new toys! It needs to stop!

*To direct money to the mortgage and updating the house.

*To lose the pregnancy weight. I need to be able to fit back into my old work wardrobe before going back to work! I can't justify spending money on clothes when I have drawers full of lovely things! I'm still 2 stone heavier than I was pre-pregnancy (I haven't lost any weight at all in the last 5 months!)

*To keep the house in a state that I don't mind unexpected visitors seeing. Last week I sent the husband and the baby out while I gutted the place. We're in the middle of decorating the dining room and half the carpet is up as we're going to put down laminate and there are extra pieces of furniture in every room for a us to trip over.

*Sleep. I'm one of the lucky ones who has a baby who sleeps 13 hours a night but for some reason I don't sleep well and I'm always tired! I know sleep has to come before all the others or else I can't focus on them.

    *Social Life. It's suffering!

As I said I'm achieving nothing. Some of the goals seem to contradict each other. If I'm in Waitro*e getting my free coffee I always want to get cake or lunch (bad for diet and spending), if I'm socialising I'm not sleeping, if I'm spending time with my cutie I'm not cleaning!

Soooo do I pick one goal and stick to it till it's a habit then add another. Or do I decide some small tasks for each goal? I'm going to go and think about this!

I still don't have much of a plan but I feel like I've achieved a few things today. I posted off an item that I've sold for £20. Once the money is in my hands I'll OP it. I went to the library to order another book on weaning, have already started this using a book I got out last week, so it saves me from buying one. Husband spent the day decorating and I had fun with the baby. She's currently having a wee nap, the heat has been making her extra sleepy (she slept over 14 hours last night!) For the next 15 minutes I'm going to do a quick tidy round. The neighbour popped in to borrow something earlier and I was in the lounge surrounded by mess- I was fairly embarrassed!

MSE plan for the next couple of days-
-list some things to sell on bookface
-open a savings account with mortgage provider so I can see my mortgage balance

I've had a lovely day :) You know you have a great life when the only thing getting you down of a day is junk mail!

I've been catching up on some diaries and it gave me the desire to try ebay again. I've listed 4 items so far. Unfortunately I remembered why I stopped using it the last time! It makes me spendy ;) While looking at how much I might get for the baby's Boden dresses I started bidding on another one! I was outbid and managed to restrain myself from upping my bid, thankfully :)

I also shortened the straps on a couple of the baby's dresses. My Mum bought her some 9-12 months dresses recently (baby is a massive 21lbs or so at 5 months!) and they were too long for her so I've just put a couple of stitches in the straps so she can wear them now.

I have a few frugal things to be getting on with tomorrow too, including picking up the library book, taking a mouldy loaf of bread back to Watrose and changing the size of a gift at M&S. I feel like I'm getting there now! I love this forum- the inspiration I get from the diaries is amazing and I'm in awe of how lovely everyone is!

Congratulations on your baby and home! I think you are doing amazingly well considering all the massive life events you are going through/have been through! I think your right about the sleep, it will def make all the other goals easier!
