Credit Card Interest Advice

Hello I am after some advice please, I currently have a Barclaycard credit card with a 0% interest deal which ends next month, now I know I can transfer my balance to another one of my credit cards but they also have no deals as I am an existing customer, can I for instance close my Halifax Credit card account wait a few days then apply for a new Halifax credit card with a 0% interest deal for new customers?
Thanks in advance! :-)

I've just had an 15 month interest free offer from Halifax with 1% fee as an existing customer.

Give them a call and ask if you have any offers, if they say no ask to close the account that should spark them into life.

Some cards have a limit of 6months from closing your last account before you are treated as a new customer and eligible for new customer benefits. I am not sure if halifax does.

Have you phoned up your existing card providers and specifically asked if they have any balance transfer deals available on your account?

  • Hi. Thanks for the replies. I will contact my card provider first see if they can do anything or just close it and wait 6 months. Thanks :-D
