I ordered an upholstered chair from Laura Ashley about 12 weeks ago. I was told when ordering that it was about a 12-week delivery turnaround.

It arrived this morning and I'm very pleased with the service they've provided, particularly in regards to delivery.

About a week before delivery (so just when I was starting to wonder if they were going to deliver on time), they called to let me know when it would be. I missed the call but they left a message, stating the date they had booked for me, and what I needed to do if that wasn't convenient. (It was.)

I was also asked to call them with any access problems (there weren't any) and told to expect a text message the day before delivery giving me a 3-hour delivery slot - very handy.

I actually got that text message 2 days ago, so sooner than expected. The slot was 8am-11am this morning. At 9:20 I had a call from the delivery guys letting me know they'd be here in about 20 minutes - very polite. 25 minutes later they arrived, had a quick look at where it was going, unpacked it on the driveway, brought it in, and put it exactly where it needed to go. They were exceptionally careful when carrying it through the house, polite and helpful the entire time, but still efficient.

They then specifically asked me to check it over before asking for my signature, which I appreciated as most companies put the emphasis on you to check items as they arrive, but don't actually give you a chance to do so. They also collected the packaging to take away with them.

It's exactly what I expect from a delivery company, with plenty of politeness, helpfulness and respect. The chair itself is beautiful and, although a little on the pricey side, I think this is a case of getting what you pay for. I would more than happily order furniture from them again.
