Please help - looking for PPI advice for my sister.

Options
Hello,

Posting this on behalf of my sister, who wants to claim PPI, but isn't too great at record keeping; here's what she asked me to post...
I am currently trying to claim PPI unsuccessfully due to the fact that it was over 12 years ago and my bank (The Yorkshire Bank) do not keep records for that long. I wonder if anyone could give me the phone number of a company who has successfully dealt with the same situation, I would be eternally grateful, thank you so much.

I'm wondering if that would be her best option, getting a company to deal with it for her? Are there any relatively simply alternatives, or simple process to follow where she could do it herself?

Many thanks,
Cos.

    There isnt one. Claims companies do not have access to personal data. They require the individual to supply the information to them.

    If her complaint has already been rejected then she is in a 6 month window to appeal that. A lender is required to use documentation supplied by the customer if they no longer have records themselves. If the complaint is upheld, then the lender needs to recreate the premium cost from pricing records it will have. So, a rejection is unlikely to be on lack of records. More likely on a lack of records that support the complaint reasons.

    It's detailed here, on this very site;

    The problem is that if your sister has no records and the Bank have destroyed theirs, then there is no longer any evidence to support a complaint.

    A claims company can never do anything the individual cannot do alone and for free.
