How do you qualify. Presumably you have to produce bank statements. What would they consider when looking at your statement that you have nothing in there at all.
Are they an instant payment if accepted.

Not sure what they consider, I don't think anyone knows. I think it will only be if you have nothing in your bank or you are in debt and and urgently need money to buy the essentials like food etc.0

If you have been sanctioned then you can do Hardship payment this is about £30-40 and taken from your next payment.
This Is the Short term advance loan For NEW CLAIMS you can apply any amount but is taken from your next payment.
You apply and they ring back later on the day or next working g day then if successfully payment issued for the next day
Not sure if you have show statements that might depends if you already had a payment within the two weeks.
If they don't offer you anything then it will be ringing your local council for food vouchers and credit put on if you have a key meter0 -
They don't give you the money or cash0

Hardship payments are not required to be paid back.
A hardship payment is basically only granted if you have no other source of income whatsoever - including household income.
And no assets remaining that you can realise.
The normal 6000 pound limit on savings does not apply - you cannot have any savings and be granted hardship.0 -
I meant the council does not give you the cash or money
That's for my council anyway0 -
it does not have to be payed back it seems if you get it.:footie:0

I think you may thinking of the local council scheme that replaced Crisis Loans. Each council can set its own policy of who it may help and the name of the payment differs from council to counil. This is not the same as a JSA or ESA hardship payment. In fact some councils refuse to grant a crisis loan type award to someone who has been sanctioned for JSA.I meant the council does not give you the cash or money
