The one I use is VUKE - an ETF with 0.1% total expense ratio* and no platform charges

Is there a cheaper one?
Edit: The FT link I posted says net expense ratio, but Vanguards fund literature and ETF factsheet categorically states that 0.1% the Total Expense Ratio
(I also hold VUSA which is gives exposure to 500 companies and has 0.09% TER)“It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends on his not understanding it.” --Upton Sinclair0 -
You will pay a £2 per month platform fee with almost all of them - though that may change next Wednesday when they announce their new prices.
In terms of pure TER the SWIP Foundation is by far the cheapest but it is a FTSE All Share as opposed to a FTSE 100 - that will still be 85-90% FTSE 100 anyway.Old dog but always delighted to learn new tricks!0 -
Glen is correct - an ETF may well be cheaper and VUKE is a good one. I still wouldn't do anything until we see what charges HL introduce next week as the £2 platform fee may disappear and there may be higher charges for holding ETFs.Old dog but always delighted to learn new tricks!0

Charles Stanley Direct charge 0.25% on holding shares and ETFs if you don't regularly buy shares. So it's pretty poor for buy and hold of ETFs.0 -

Ah. I hold mine through www.X-O.co.uk who currently charge nothing to hold shares and ETFs Just £5.95 per trade which I guess could only be expensive if you top up small amounts.“It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends on his not understanding it.” --Upton Sinclair0 -

With CS you pay 0.25% up to the account hard cap of £150 for stocks and shares or if you trade 6 times every 6 months, which costs £120pa with regular £10 dealing charges, there are no further charges at all.
Nothing to be gained from trading for the sake of it on balances below £48K though.
No such cap applies to funds though which seems odd and one (minor) reason I sold out of funds into trusts on their platform.
Perhaps they're going to announce further pricing changes later, as I suspect several will do over the coming months as they jockey for market share.'We don't need to be smarter than the rest; we need to be more disciplined than the rest.' - WB0 -

Well, the OP is using HL and they currently charge 0.5% for ETFs (capped at £45pa in an ISA and £200pa in a SIPP)Old dog but always delighted to learn new tricks!0 -

not according to their website which says: There are no management fees for holding shares, ETFs, investment trusts or bonds.

No fees unless held in an ISA. Outside an ISA is free, inside costs 0.5% paRemember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0
