Ugh. I had a card sent to a DCA (spare me the lecture please) and they've been like hell.
They've now referred it to their home collections department because I apparently missed a payment in December.
I thought that this was odd, given they said they would set up a DD and I had enough money in my account. I checked my bank statement and there definitely was enough and there is nothing on my online banking to show the DD ever being made, let alone cancelled.
Should I be worried that they're referring it to the home collections department?
Also, I received this letter on the 9th, stating that payment is due on the 11th. Is there anything I can do about how stupid it is? If I did make the payment today it wouldn't arrive in time, for god's sake.
They wouldn't know their a$$ from their head with a bloody map.
What should I do?

With a DCA its usually best to set up a standing order rather than a DD. That way you can control how much you pay a month and when to stop it etc.
The home collections department. There is a small chance they may decide to send a doorstop collector to your house to ask you to pay (this isn't a bailiff and has no rights) if they do just tell them you have no intention of discussing this on the doorstep and tell them to leave. If you want to be certain this won't happen then there is a template letter you can send to stop it.
I'd get in touch to make a payment as soon as you can, and would probably change your repayment method going forward.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
