New Job advice please

Good evening everyone, looking for some advice please.

I'm married with 2 children and my husband works and i'm unemployed.

We have had some luck and he has got a new job with a decent wage.
At the moment he earns £10,800 part time hours ( hours got cut) and his new job is £25,000.

I used a benefits calculator and our housing will go from £654 to around £300 and our tax credits will go from £133 to around £44. ( our rent is £1000 a month)

This is all fine but he is going to be paid in arrears and i'm clueless on how we will manage for the month without money. He will need to work 2 months before getting paid 1 month ( I think if he left he gets the month he is owed)

So if I ring housing and tax credits the day he gets a new job. They will recalculate our benefit amounts to the new much lower amounts but he won't be paid for 2 months.

We have no saving and we are on a dmp for debt.

Can anyone offer any advice? If I explain to housing benefit that he won't be paid for 2 months will they still issue our normal payment for the month when we have no money coming in?

I also think I remember hearing you have 4 weeks to inform tax credits but I want to avoid huge over payments if possible.

I'm so worried about how we will pay our rent and have money for food etc
