S C E P T I C A L HARD TIMES I have, I feel, become very sceptical…
I have tried, quite hard I think, and I feel now... I have been beaten...
I work/have worked, full time, since Apr 1972, I pay my own way, I don't claim any
benefits - I don't qualify for WTC I am told. I pay tax £154 pcm, I pay Nhi, £71 pcm.
Here we are now, Dec 2013/Jan 2014, and I have been hit hard over the last 4/5 weeks.
I'm 57 years of age now…
1 10th Dec 2013, Became unable to work, due to a leg problem...
severe pain, can't put weight on it, diagnosis is adductor tendonitis -
contraction of the groin muscles.
2 06th Dec 2013, Advised that my Pension Pot Draw Down will drop from £320
to £189 pcm, Lovely Christmas Present…
3 08th Jan 2014, advised that Full Pay will end, and I'll be paid SSP £86.70 pw
that's drops me from a nett income of £233.49/Wk to £86.70/Wk - I'm told
that SSP will also have tax and nhi deducted.
What this means is within a matter of weeks my income has dropped by a staggering
£177 Per Week, £767 pcm… how does anyone cope with that? What happens next?
If you would like to comment, I invite you to comment
perhaps you can suggest SOMETHING that might help me...:(

SSP is taxable, but if thats the only income you will have then you wont hit the tax threshold.
do you rent?
if so you should apply for Housing Benefit/LHA and council tax suppoty
you should also fill out an HC1 application for help with NGS costs0 -
Try to find a job that involves sitting down? A till operator, computer user etc...0

I'm looking for a different job every single day, which is a soul destroying process, I've sent many applications off. 99% of the time you don't here anything back at all, I don't know if you have tried this recently, thanks anyway... I was looking for some suggestions that are a little less obvious - that perhaps I had not thought of.0

Can you apply for PIP/DLA?

Have you been given any idea of how soon your condition will improve with appropriate therapy ?0
