Sticking with OVO

Having read the horror stories and had further anectdotal poor reports of npower and edf energy, I realise how fortunate I am to have stuck with OVO Energy. I have had no problems switching to them from Scottish Power over a year ago. Their monthly bills/ emails are clear and simple to compare with usage and billing over previous month and year. When I proposed reducing my monthly DD given that I was going to be travelling etc and had made a concerted effort to cut my usage they reduced it promptly. I have subsequently agreed to increase my monthy DD for the exceptionally cold winter but am confident that I am not being ripped off by money sitting in my account and encouraged by the excellent customer service - friendly, intelligent people in this country.

Now that I am considering a fixed deal having not got round to switching this autumn, the proposed savings are minor for switching to a fixed OVO deal with a higher standing charge or moving back to Scottish Power with their unattractive exit fee and whopping 68.5p standing charge. Can I be bothered just for the cashback? I don't think so this time.

Given that I am pretty frugal about my use of electricity & gas in particular, and with a student son not home till the summer, I am tempted to stick with my current variable deal. Better the devil you know, and OVO have at least earned my loyalty for the time being by giving me relative control and peace of mind over my energy billing.

It's good to hear your positive comments about OVO, I am just considering switching to them now from British Gas. If the estimates are correct I should save about £150 year by switching.
