Cat peeing in the house.

I have a beautiful and healthy 8 year old cat. She has always been really good at not peeing in the house. Has always used either outside (for the past 3 years)or a litter tray (when we didnt have a garden/cat flap), and i have never had a problem with her.
Yesterday my friend was moaning about her cat who always P's in her house, and i said how lucky i was because my cat never does, never has....
She was obviously listening :rotfl: and this morning she walked into the lounge, and P'd on the floor
Is it normal for cats to do this rarely, without any health problems, or should i be taking her to the vet do you think?

I'm no cat expert but have had quite a lot of them . One of mine is usually very good and the only time she peed in the house is if she was shut in a room accidentally or was frightened by a stray cat and couldn't get out of the cat flap, she's very timid . She's nearly 17 now and we've got a litter tray as she doesn't like to be outside in the rain, wind etc . Two of the other cats peed on the floor right in front of us . At the time we knew they were , sadly, near the end of their lives . It was something they never did when they were healthy . Is your cat likely to have been frightened by a stray outside ? Did she definitely have access to the cat flap ? Maybe it's just a one off but if it happens again you could ring the vet for advice .0

Thanks for the replies.
I think she may have been scared by the neighbours cat outside. I know she could get out of the cat flap, but he was probably waiting outside for her. She needs to get a restraining order

As a one off instance I would probably not worry as your cat is only 8. If it happens again within a short time then I would consider a visit to the vet. I had one cat that did this regularly but she was elderly and sadly thats what happens

To clear it up I recommend simple solution extreme stain and odor remover.0
