Just to confirm. We got our 'goodwill gesture' of a partial refund - £25. The 'absolute maximum' they could offer - 10% of what we spent with them.
Also to confirm, we didn't get invited to review them as I suggested above - they only send requests to review them using their FeeFoo system if your order has gone smoothly. -A completely unethical practice which artificially makes them look like a reputable company according to the reviews on their site. Just search for reviews in your search engine and you will find the truth - that the vast majority of their customers have had horrible experiences like us.0 -
I sent this message to Worldstores, regarding non delivery and poor service:-
Dear sirs,
I have had the misfortune to select your company for the purchase of bedroom furniture for my daughters new home. I was informed delivery would be on Friday 5th Dec. (your choice not mine), i would have been happy with any delivery date as long as you upheld your commitment to deliver on day specified.
If you read the email below sent fao Sian Beadnall you will note my concerns, the furniture eventually arrived on Monday 8th Dec. 5 days later than your stated date!
What is even more galling is the fact that other than an automatic reply, there was no reply to that email, which would confirm my opinion of your company, that you dont care about your customers or the fact that lying to them can be upsetting. A simple apology and an explanation of what went wrong would not have gone amiss!
I will never ever deal with your company again and will inform my friends and review sites of your total lack of commitment to your customers. Leon.0 -
I was due a delivery of a new mattress on Jan 7th. When it didn't arrive I contacted these cowboys to ask for a refund but they offered to arrange for a weekend delivery to avoid too much further inconvenience which I stupidly agreed to. Having waited in all day Saturday, no delivery came so I emailed them. No reply. I've tried calling today but noone is answering the phone.
I've told them by email that if I don't hear from them soon, I'll be asking my credit card company to get my money back. Thank god I paid on a credit card!0 -

I wish I had read the reviews before placing my order!!! I ordered bed and mattress and paid extra £30 for Saturday Delivery. On the specified date for delivery-January 3rd 2015, only the mattress was delivered!! One week later the slats for the bed were delivered!! The following Saturday the bed frame was delivered so we dismantled the old bed and commenced fitting the new bed only to discover there were NO nuts or bolts etc to erect the bed so had to re-erect the old bed!! It took another week for the nuts and bolts to arrive via the postal system!!
No one replied to any of the e.mails sent, we got one call back from World Stores midway through the whole scenario and offered the refund of extra Saturday delivery we paid plus an additional £20 but definitely not worth all the e.mails and calls and the wasted Saturdays we had to endure... WE WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPLANY AGAIN... AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE...0 -
Just purchased 2 sofa beds from WorldStores. Delivery expected Thursday PM by XDP. Tracked and sofas arrived in delivery depot 7.30am Thursday. Waited in all day Thursday and Friday, turned up 1.30pm Saturday. Daughters boyfriend had to sign for them before they brought them in....boxes were wet and damaged. One of the beds had a puncture through the box and bed. Photos and email sent to WorldStores Saturday and phonecall made Monday. Collection for damaged bed organised (or so I thought) and another bed ordered for next day delivery. Email received for me to book return, first day available Thursday!!!! Tracking showed sofa bed arrived in delivery depot Tuesday 7.38am. Waited in Tuesday, email sent sofa bed out for delivery Wednesday morning.....no delivery received, waited in all day!Email sent reminder for collection Thursday, waited in all day, no delivery, no collection....rang and emailed XDP, no answer. Friday am email received, collection expected between 18.21 hours and 21.21 hours...rang WorldStores re delivery, they returned the call saying delivery will be between 3pm and 6pm!!!! Phone call received from XPD at 5pm asking if I was expecting a delivery for TWO sofa beds!!!!! 'No one' I said 'and a collection'...'Don't know about a collection just a delivery!!!' He informed me he would be at least 2 hours and asked if somebody was home to help him as he would be on his own, nobody would be home that night so he said leave it with me. At 8.45pm on Friday night he arrived with his son whom he had picked up on his way. He asked if I had a sense of humour as he either had to leave both sofas or just the one....on the good side he could take my faulty one!!!!!! I told him to leave both as one might be faulty again and the boxes were again wet and damaged! And yes one was damaged but he couldn't take the damaged one witout taking both he informed me!!!! Saturday email and pictures sent to WorldStores and they again activated a return by email for me to book a day. Again first day available was Thursday. Wednesday email received (as received the previous week) reminding me of a collection for the following day....waited in all day no collection made. Anybody interested in a sofa bed, two holes underneath, the tops fine because after 7 days in my house I'm not waiting in anymore for XDP!!!! By the way the delivery man that arrived on the Friday night informed me they never pick up the phone. XDP are just cowboys who give WorldStores a bad name more fool them.0

Still no improvement on their deliveries and 4 days of my time wasted (plus several calls!) - please beware:
Thursday - ordered a bed from Worldstores and email confirming order and delivery date Monday or Tuesday (tbc)
Friday - Email confirmed delivery on Tuesday. Emailed XDP depot as instructed as was not convenient (still have not received a reply a week later).
Monday - No Reply - so arranged to get people to cover in case they arrived.
Tuesday - No show, XDP website updated to show delivery on the Wednesday
Wednesday - Still no delivery. Tried call XDP but only anserphone
Thursday 8:55am - XDP website updated to show delivery between 11am and 2:30pm. At 5:30pm I called the store who informed me it was still on the delivery van and would be delivered that day (and the couriers did not finish until 7pm)
Friday - 9:10am, waited 20 mins on call to Worldstores to be told delivery team ran out of time and would call back with an update. 2pm Chased again. 2:15pm received a call from Worldstores to say they would update on the status sometime during the day. 5pm called to tell them to keep the order.
Now waiting for delivery from a more reputable company with date confirmed for 2 weeks time - would rather have a confirmed real date than waste my time with these companies!0 -

I read this thread a couple of days to late.
I ordered 10 doors from DoorsWorld on Tuesday and selected today for delivery. I took today off work to be at home for the delivery. As I hadn't received any dispatch email I phoned them this morning to ask if everything was ok and was told that there had been a problem with their courier XDP and the doors were still at their depot and not out for delivery.
Delivery is now arranged for tomorrow, but I have said that it has to be from mid morning onwards because I need to be at work first thing. I just hope that they do turn up because if they don't I can't be in to accept delivery between now and when they are due to be fitted.
I will be careful not to use and Worldstores companies ever again after this.0 -
Same here. Waiting in for a delivery arranged for today, no updates to tracking website since yesterday morning, and Worldstores - having eventually answered the phone - agree that it won't be arriving today after all. No idea what the next step is; they said they'd call back. Useless.
UPDATE: Worldstores hadn't even dispatched it. I eventually received a dispatch email at 8pm on the day I'd arranged to have it delivered. No response to emails, no information no apology. The following morning I received a text from the courier to say it would arrive between 1.13 and 4.13pm(!), which it did and they were very helpful. No complaints about XDP, but totally unimpressed with Worldstores.0
