satellite tv

I have Telewest on one tv in my house and would like to be able to get it on the other in another room. I contacted Telewest who are quoting me £30 initial call out then £15 a month thereafter (on top of the cost of the existing contract, sorry but I'm not that desperate to watch satellite...!)
However a friend of mine tells me there's something I can buy which I can plug into my tv which will pick up all the satellite channels from the other tv? Can anyone give me any advice. I don't want to walk into Currys or Comet and having "rip me off I'm a woman" written on my forehead.
Many thanks.
Non techie woman.

an AV video sender, there is one on the grabbit board from Toys R Us for £19.99 at the moment, it'll transmit teh sound and pictures but won't replay the remote control to the other room is the problem. Not many work with NTL?Telewest remotes, only Sky ones0

Thanks for that. Will give them a call.0

I think NTL are quoting you for another cable box which will allow you to watch two DIFFERENT channels in two different rooms. I.e. hubby can watch Sky Sports in living room while you watch Sky Movies in Dining room. Is this what you are after?
An AV video sender will only allow you to watch the SAME cable channel in two different rooms.0 -
I don't know where NTL came from, I have Tele-west (unless they are the same company?? Told you I wasn't a techie!!)
Anyhow, no I didn't want to watch the same programme as it would be my son watching cartoons whilst I would like to watch, say ITV3.
I know I can buy a FREEVIEW box but I was just investigating this option first.0 -
my suggestion would only work to transmit the same channel, for watching different channels as other poster said, you'll need Freeview or a second Telewest box which will have a monthly subscription as you originally stated0
