Well the msnhome one is a defult home page. So don't be worried about an internet hijacker as that seems to not be the problem (as it would make the home page some weird search thing)

Going to basics, are clicking apply as you make the changes? Silly question I know, but eliminates a possible problem :p

Could alwyas download and use Mozilla Firefox. Much better browser than IE and no internet hijacks!

    hi merciless

have done the apply and ok and even on google, make this home page, but its having none of it.

its not a major thing but ms searc engine lists microsoft stuff 1st then gives you what you are looking for a few pages after.

glad you dont think its a hacker

    any suggestions very helpful

    many thanks

Hmmm very strange problem. Are you using an account which has Administrator rights on the computer? i.e the main account? If your daughter doesn't have full rights it might not be saving her changes :s

As I also advised, download mozilla firefox. In all seriousness its a much safer browser to use and is less prone to phising attacks and internet hijacks!

(Its just as simple if not easier to use!)

Spybot has a feature to prevent the IE home page from being changed. Spybot, Tools, IE Tweaks

    hi

yes she does have administrator rights and she is the sole user, she uses zonealarm, avg for her firewall and anti virus.

i didnt load spybot until after we discovered this problem so i dont think it would have locked it but will look now.
