    So the question has to be asked why you are looking for legal advice on the internet?

    The nurseries we have used have all been like that, it seems fairly standard. If my daughter was ill you paid full fee's and there were two fee options, 5 half days a week or 5 full days, at the time we only actually needed 4 full days but we felt the nursery would best suit our parenting style and our daughter so we were happy to pay for the extra day.

    Now she goes to a childminder, of course we still have to pay our childminder if our daughter is ill our childminder only charges half a day, if we cancel a day without a months notice she charges us for the full day as after all, she needs to make a living.

    Unfortunately if you want a nursery to match your terms you need to find a different nursery or a childminder that is more suitable, you have agreed to these terms so you either need to bite your tongue and accept them or go elsewhere. If you haven't looked for a while you both need to have another look around your area and see what else is available to you where childcare is concerned.
