franchise gone bust

not sure i am posting this in the correct section so my appologise if not, i have just been informed by my now ex employer that the franchise he directed and i worked for has ceased to trade with immediate effect, i just want to know if anybody knows where i stand in terms of finding the funds to pay my bills at the end of the month because i dont think JSA will anywhere near cover the cost of them

What bills are they? If you've been laid off as the business has closed you can:
• Apply to have unpaid wages paid to you (I don't know how/where that happens, but there is some system for it) if he's not paying you up to date.
• Sign on and get JSA
• Apply for LHA for rent if applicable
• Apply for assistance with mortgage in 3 months, if applicable
• Apply for council tax to be paid, if applicable
Beyond that is 'your problem'

i dont have a mortgage so it would be rent to housing association and council tax apart from that i am tied into contracts for mobile phone bills tv and broadband services and loan repayments. i am payed upto date so that dosnt really apply, your reply pretty much confirmed what i already though,t thankyou.0

If you do not find work, you have to take a dive, they dont usually move so defaulting and learning to swim is normal.
The trick is, find work very quickly indeed and sell what is not life lifesaving stuff.Be happy...;)0 -
