Faulty boots

I bought a pair of long boots in November, wore them a handful of times, now I've found a hole at the back just above the heel, with the insides of the boots now coming through.
Have I had them too long to expect the store to do anything about them, even though they've not been worn often it's still 2 months?
Just want to get the opinion of others before I go back to the store.

Take them back with proof of purchase and see what they say.

2 months for some people is a long time in footwear due to the nature of their jobs etc to others its unreasonable to only last 2 months.

The wear and tear on the boots would be obvious, if they have been well used there will be signs elswhere of this, little use would show the hole but good condition every where else, if the later point it out to them.
