If anyone else out there invested in that OLED got a letter from Lloyds describing how this barrier event occurred then I would be interested if you could post here.
The letter that was sent out said that the increase was more than 42%, and so gave no return (other than original investment), but there is a wrinkle, which means that some investors may have been given misleading information.

    You have a PM.

Oh dear. It is madness to PM a newbie on an internet forum when it comes to your finances. Though you have done it before if I remember correctly.

    Lamb to the slaughter.

Or perhaps you are sending PMs to your alter ego.

Thank you, I do remember your warning and the ensuing banning of the person from being able to make subsequent contributions to the post.
You were mistaken, and so were all those who spoke ill of his intentions. This is why I decided to PM the poster who just replied, because I wanted to warn him that this is unfortunately not the place to discuss this kind of information. Mostly because no-one who has so far contributed other than the poster who was banned and myself have been personally affected by any of this, and that was before this matter came to light.
On the other hand I would be interested to see whether anyone else replies who has been directly affected by this investment.

There appears to be an issue when it comes taking a complaint against Lloyds to the next stage, which most expect to be the FOS. It seems however that there is no such service in Gibraltar, so the complaints form indicates that the Gibraltar Consumer Advice Office should be contacted.
In my case, the OLED was offered by Lloyds Bank Gibraltar, the contract was signed in Spain, yet the final offer for the complaint came from the Isle of Man office. The Isle of Man Ombudsman's office was unable to give me a reply as to whether or not they were able to take on the case, and I have still not received a reply from the Gibraltar Consumer office to an email sent on the 21st of February. The receptionist refuses to allow me to speak with her boss, who is the person who would be responsible for taking the matter into consideration. She would not even confirm whether they had actually received my email. I am getting passed from pillar to post here and I am becoming more and more frustrated, and I really need this advice as I feel I have not been treated fairly by Lloyds, and new information has also come to light which changes the content of my complaint since I first presented it
    .
If this is the service proposed by Lloyds in lieu of the FOS, how is it possible that they are unable to advise me?
There is no FOS in Spain nor equivalent that I have been able to contact.
A friend of mine living abroad found himself in a similar situation, as there is no FOS where he lives either.
Can someone kindly clarify what is Lloyds legal obligation in respect of this service, and can anyone explain how it is that such a situation can arise taking into account the nature of these offshore investments, which is International - thus many clients will I am sure find themselves in a similar situation should they need to take a complaint further?
I could not find anywhere more appropriate to post this, as there seems to be no part of the forum offering advice specifically to ex-pats - I feel there should be!

By the way Archie Bald, I just realized the snide nature of your last comment. Please keep such comments to yourself, you already got someone banned who was trying to offer vital information to the OP -me on the basis of spamming. I was the only one who tried to come to his defense, but you had no reason to do what you did. Now you are trying to insinuate that he didn't even exist!
The information being offered is vital to anyone who like me has lost out on the interest payment for this investment. Your comments lessen the chances of anyone finding that information, so if you have nothing constructive to add to this thread, please start your own thread elsewhere where you can air your little prejudices with your own kind where no doubt they will be appreciated, instead of hijacking mine!

    Thanks for reading.

If there is a moderator, I would request that all such comments which do not bring anything informative to this thread be removed. Thank you.
