Hi
I purchased the above freeview tv stick thinkin I could watch freeview on my computer, after lots of confusion & downloading/fitting parts to my tower it eventually downloaded however, the sound jumps... I spoke to Freecom regarding this & they said its cos my comp isnt 2.0ghz which is minimum that software accepts.
Does any1 know of any freeview stick that is compatible with my computer?
Here's the spec:
Intel Pentium III Processor (old I know!)
864mhz
128mb
Windows XP
I look forward to your responses!

Are you sure you have a USB 2.0 slot for it to plug into??
The older USB 1.1 slots struggled with usb tv receivers, normally, both picture and sound jump.
I have run internal PCI TV cards at lower processor speeds than yours in the distant past. sometimes they would only work from a clean boot so ensure there is nothing running in the background
For the USB cards I used to play with, as long as the machine had USB 2.0 slots, then they were generally okay (sometimes required an addon PCI USB 2.0 card for it to work though).
I agree about the ram, but with a machine of that spec, probably not worth the upgrade. Time for a nice new shiny one????0 -
We bought a 2.0 USB slot & fitted it..
Any other ideas - cant afford new comp just yet!0 -
As freecom said, this will only work with minimum spec, your comp is probably 7-8 years old and therefore will not cope. Upgrade I suggest to a the minimum spec will cost you peanuts.
My Freecom stick work a treat on Pentium D.:beer:Five exclamation marks the sure sign of an insane mind!!!!!

Have you tried form a clean boot? i.e. as soon as the PC has started up.
Try disabling any anti virus checkers, in fact, try to stop anything down near the clock in the bottom right of the screen.
Have a look through MSCONFIG and prevent anything unnecessary from booting with the machine.0 -
Hi there
If http://www.freecom.com/objects/00008567.pdf is the product you have - it states quite clearly the minimum spec0
