Car Warranty
Hi. First time poster, long time lurker.
Looking for some advice re a used car warranty. I purchased an 04 plate VW Golf 2.0 GT TDI from a local garage on 12th October 2013, the car came with a 3 month engine and gearbox warranty and was sold on the condition that certain faults were rectified, ie a broken indicator bulb and a missing parcel shelf hanger. I also asked for another key to be provided for the car. At the time, tge garage couldnt contact their regular "key man" but gave me an £80 discount off the car to cover the trade cost of getting the key cut and gave me the contact details of the company for me to contact myself and arrange the supply and coding of the key. I have been unable to contact the company they recommend as it appears they are no longer trading. Other companies have quoted in excess of £140 to supply snd code the key.
So, finally, to my question! What rights (if any) do l have to demand the garage supplies me with a spare key? I have tried to contact the garage by email, but have had no reply.
Please help.

They offered you discount instead of the key and you accepted that. You can't go back and re-negotiate now, sorry.
Also, they offered £80 based on their cost. By the time they would put VAT and their markup on that, you're probably heading up towards the figures you have been quoted.1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?0 -

Did you get anything in writing from them, for example on the invoice or similar?0 -
Oh, and you could buy the key yourself:

Then you just need to get it cut and programmed.1. Have you tried to Google the answer?

If it's the 2.0PD it'll be a Mk5 I imagine, so that key's possibly incorrect.
(I've no idea what a Mk5 key is like).0 -
Could be this then...
