Pinterest - People repinning comp pins for same comp!!

I'm just wondering if other compers entering comps on Pinterest are having this problem?

At Christmas I woke up to find lots of pinterest notifications where someone had basically pinned all the pins off one of my comp boards and added them to her own comp board for the same competition!!

I had this a few months back where I submitted a board and someone else either copied or thought of the same theme ok fair enough but they then repinned most of my board aswell.

I understand some pinterest comps you have to all pin images from the promoters page and so you are pretty much going to have the same images but I'm talking about images I've searched for, added or thought of myself its those that time to do and its so frustrating when you then see those images repinned onto other boards for the same competition.

Today I've had someone repin 3 images to their comp board for the same competition.

I cant be the only Pinterest comper this happens too so I would like to know how others deal with this.

This happens to me too - it's so frustrating when you have put in a lot of time and effort into making your board creative and unique

I'm pretty new to Pinterest (funkyfreks) I only joined for comping really, I think I know what I'm doing but I'm not 100% sure, I would hope these people don't do it on purpose because it would annoy me also... but then speaking from (lack of) experience maybe they don't know they're doing it..
Could they not know... ?? that's how little I know ... hahahaha..

No it does make sense & like you I gave the first person the benefit of the doubt as I know Pinterest is confusing and people RT by mistake on twitter all the time so I assumed it may be like that. But after investigating a bit some of the people Repinning look like they are fluent on Pinterest and do lots of Pinterest comps so I think it's just laziness.

Thing is if a competition is a random draw you can see the attraction of Repinning anyone else's competition pins but even so I still make an effort to pin creative pins as you never know it may just win you a prize.

I've been on Pinterest over a year now and I would say this is a problem I'm getting weekly - I don't mind people Repinning my pins but it's frustrating when they are Repinning to enter the same competition which is what I am referring to in this post.

Yes last year I won £500 gift card! also won a bag and some string lights.

I love the creative side of it but from a comping point of view its getting frustrating.

I found the same and then came across someone's blog post about Pinterest.
If/when I enter Pinterest competitions I pin everything to a Secret board (scroll to bottom of your profile board page)
Then the day the comp closes (or day before) I make the board publc.
I use Tab Alarm on Firefox on the MSE comp post and it reopens on the last day.

Thanks yes I ve been doing the secret boards but I think I will hold now entering comps til the last min - I cant see any other way around it.

I've had this happen to me where someone took all 10 images off my board for a comp! I just kept an eye on the competition board - I didn't win and neither did they so I left it.

If she'd have won I would have made a point of letting everyone know she'd repinned my images.

annoys the pants off me as its just pure laziness!!

This has happened to me too. It's really frustrating.
