Credit card checks and credit files

Evening all.

I have been bouncing my credit card debt round 0% interest cards for a few years (we started in xx,xxx land and are now just over 1400!!) and my latest deal ended earlier than I thought.

Jumped onto MSE and clicked through to the Halifax 0% card, signed up on line and it got as far as the 'Do not close browser, we are doing the credit checks' kind of message.

The site then died and I was left with the message: 'Transaction did not complete - we are having technical difficulties'.

My question is will that be recorded on the credit file as a failed or successful check from the Halifax?

Only asking as I know things get hairy if there are too many checks in a short period of time and wanted to try another one so I don't keep paying interest on the current card!

Dont retry it again tonight, what you can do is wait till 2morrow and give them a call. they will be able to tell you if they have received your application.

Dont retry it at all. Contact them and see if it went through.

Had several issues lately with some secure websites failing and yet the transactions all completed.
