Clearer Captcha?

I've tried to make posts here a number of times over the past few months but often tend to give up because the captcha form is so obscure.
Do others ever raise concern over this, and if so would a better captcha system not make a bit of sense?

Don't remember ever having one on here - when do you get it? Am merrily responding to you now and no sign.
Edited to add, no sign of captcha after posting either.0 -
Apparently the OP changes his password every time he comes to the site. The captcha is involved in the process of changing his password.:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

Thanks, yes have seen the other thread now. Makes sense now. Why the need to change password though?0 -
I logged in on a different computer and it's been a while so I'd forgotten my password. Went to do the reset process, but the CAPTCHA is so hard to read now it took me 20+ goes before I got it right. The audio captcha is no better - I just couldn't make it out at all through the static. I don't have any reading or hearing disabilities in case anyone's wondering!
I've only noticed this on MSE - other sites that also use Google captcha have the 'recognise house numbers from Streetview' and I can read that fine.
Has MSE got the difficulty control and turn it up to the max, or something?0
